I know, I know, street racing is bad, and that the people who do it are the children of Satan etc..

But...

This car is ridiculously fast so it's worth posting.

I just don't understand racing on streets.

How hard can it possibly be to find a drag strip nearby? Give the operator a nice call and I bet you could get it reserved for your use late some night for not that much money, and save the risk of getting into trouble with Johnny law or wrecking yourself or others.

Not that I'm pro-street racing, but there are plenty of reasons:

1. If you live in a major metropolitan area, the nearest dragstrip is likely 45-60 minutes away from you.

2. Can't very well race from a roll at a dragstrip.

3. Races longer than 1/4 mile

4. Adrenaline rush, BRO!

I don't street race and I don't really know anyone who does, not personally anyway. But here on Long Island they've closed every racetrack. The last track of any kind here is Riverhead Raceway, a run down quarter mile oval that I bet is a few years away from closing its gates for good. They have what they call "hole shot drags" there, which is amusing but depressing to watch. Englishtown is the closest option for drag racing. It really is a sad state of affairs.
